We're using the HP SVSP technology to do real-time replication to a pair of datacenters for our fibrechannel storage that is presented to VMWare. We ran into a "gotcha" because we wanted to present this storage as Read-Only to the Veeam Backup box, but currently the SVSP engine doesn't support presenting Read-Only LUNS. We're trying to mitigate the scenario where someone could initialize our VMWare LUNS from the Veeam Backup box and I'm seeking advice on what our options may be.
Any suggestions? Maybe from the OS-level or perhaps a workaround from other SVSP users? I haven't found much info on making a volume read-only on windows server 2008 so if you know a resource, your help would be greatly appreciated.
