[SOLVED] [SureBackup] APIPA address problem
Hi all,
First of all im french, as you can know we don't speak english well so please be kind with me
I need your help because i made some search to solve my problem but i didn't find anything or im not sure it could works.
I have a surebackup job wich always fail because, one of the VM (debian 4.0 ) in this job is not detected as started (i can see it started when i open the console. I see the login screen) and the ping step doesn't work because the VM seems so be started in DHCP mode but we don't have DHCP in this vlan so it start with APIPA address.
In Vsphere i saw VM Tools activated.
I configured a DHCP range for this vlan (i tested it and it works with an other VM in this vlan) but with the VM (in the surebackup) it doesn't works.
I saw that i can turn MAC ADDRESS in manual mod in VSphere but i would try the other way before changing this setting.
Im affraid to change the MAC ADDRESS mode and make this VM unusable.
Someone can help me if you succeed to read and understand all i wrote
Thanks you a lot.

Re: [SureBackup] APIPA address problem
Hi and welcome to the community!
First of all, let's check if you have enabled DHCP in the virtual lab settings?
P.S. In my opinion your English is fine, though I'm not a native speaker.
Thanks

Re: [SureBackup] APIPA address problem
Hi, thanks for answering me so fast .
I have a question : If i understand the way veeam works, virtual lab are the same for all SureBackup ?
Is it possible that turning on DHCP on virtual lab can affect other SureBackup ?

Re: [SureBackup] APIPA address problem
You can select different virtual labs for different Surebackup jobs. DHCP server works only on the internal (isolated) interface of the virtual lab, therefore it should not cause any interference to VMs that do not belong to the same isolated network.
