Archiving Exchange

Post by tienlamnguyen »

This is off subject.

but I have a mandate in my company to archive certain email for 7 years for regulatory purposes.

I am currently backing up Exchange 2013 with Veeam.

do you have any email archiving products on the works ?

Hello Tien,

Is it a single file? I would just copy it manually.
Or you need to backup emails periodically?

We have item-restore tools and files/vms backups. Thanks!

We are looking for a product that could archive certain mailboxes for 7 years.
ex: CEO - CFO -CTO - Board members and vice presidents mailboxes will be archived for 7 years.

Veeam BR is not doing that right now. Anyway , like a said this is a off topic as other company provides this capability.

The reason I ask is I do not want to support another solution/software. Call me lazy

Have you considered using native Online Archive feature of Exchange?
We are using it here at Veeam with great success for a few years now.

Hello Gostev,

Yes I have looked into that - I need to bump my exchange to enterprise license or something like that. And it is not cheap.

I am looking at other cost effective way to do it.

thanks for all the input.
