Hi,
As explained here https://www.veeam.com/kb1975 the automatic update fails if there is a proxy in use.
We support schools and there are loads of proxyes in place for obvious reasons.
When one installs the VEEAM backup and replication software, the "Veeam backup Service" is installed and run as "Local System".
The workaround for this issue was to log on the "Veeam backup Service" as local administrator and having the local administrators IE setting set the right waay with proxy.
My Query.
Wouldn't it be better/easier if we were able to set this proxy from inside VEEAM?
And/or have the ability to "Use IE settnigs" and "use the following settings"
Thank you,
Elemer Gazda

Re: Automatic license update fails when HTTP proxy is used
Hi, Elemer - sure, it would be better/easier no doubt. It just has not been a big request, unlike hundreds of other pending features... and unlike with those, there's a simple workaround.

Veeam should follow MS rules and use WinHTTP Proxy Settings instead of per User WinINET.
