Re: Automatically add vm to custom backup job
Hi Babak,
You don't need Veeam Orchestrator for it, as Veeam Backup & Replication can add VMs automatically based on variety of factors: vSphere Tags, Resource Pool, Datastore, Host. For example, edit your Backup Job settings, step "Virtual Machines" - here you can select specific VMs and\or add a container, like Resource Pool - all new VMs that will be created in that Resource Pool will be automatically protected by Veeam on next job run!
/Cheers!

For example if I set tag today for all vms but previously created job for them is that possible without delete jobs or backups edit them and do this procedure ? or had to create new job for new vms that have tag ?

You can add that tag to the existing job alongside already selected VMs - on next run Veeam will find every VM in the list(including tagged ones) and back them up!

Re: Automatically add vm to custom backup job
Nothing wrong will happen to the exisiting backup chain, just new VMs added to the list of processed VMs by said backup job.

Previously I have created job and added 2 vms (testn , testn2) from Host and cluster now I have create a Tag with name "vlan850" now :
1- I know new vms after create I will be assign to specif Tag and will be Automatically add to job
2- Also now I have assign tag "VLAN850" to testn, testn2. I want to know after add VLAN850 Tag , is that necessary remove vms (testn , testn2) from this job and just remain VLAN850 Tag or no problem just add new tag (VLAN850) without remove previous vms

Re: Automatically add vm to custom backup job
It is not necessary to remove existing VMs - You can just add a tag.
After all, Veeam will resolve tagged VMs names and merge list with existing (testn, testn2) - so only unique entities will be protected.
