Hi
Will running the AWS SMS that snapshots and sends deltas to AWS every few hours interfere with Veeam backups (or vica-versa)
Thanks

Re: AWS Server Migration Service (SMS) and Veeam snapshots?
Hi Mark,
Would you be so kind to elaborate a bit what are you trying to achieve? And what do you mean by "Veeam snapshots"?
Thanks!

Re: AWS Server Migration Service (SMS) and Veeam snapshots?
So AWS SMS takes snapshots at intervals and copies the changes to AWS EC1 ready for migration. But in between these, Veeam Backup also takes a snapshot for its own backup. I'm asking if this is ok, or do the VMs in question need to be excluded from Veeam whilst they are getting replicated to AWS.

Re: AWS Server Migration Service (SMS) and Veeam snapshots?
It's difficult to say how will AWS SMS react to periodic snapshot creation triggered by third-party vendor (Veeam in your case). Veeam does not create snapshots, snapshot creation is managed at the level of the hypervisor, backup application only plays a role of requestor.
From my point of view, it's worth trying to ask the question regarding AWS SMS behavior on Amazon discussion forums.
Thanks!
