B&V Doubt

Post by joao.boavida »

Great Day to all

I need your help to explain me a doubt that has arisen.
I use Veeam B&R to manage all my server. If there is a general failure on all servers, including the server where is Veeam B&R intalled, how can I restore information?

When I try to restore the information using the Veeam Windows Agent, the following information appears:
"unable to complete the action because this backup agent is centrally managed by your system administrator"

the best regards
Sorry my google English.

Hi João

For protecting your backup data, you should always have backups at a second location. (3-2-1-1-0 Rule)

If your VBR Server has crashed, install a new Windows Server and install VBR Server on top of it, import the backup files to the VBR Server and you are able to restore the backed up data.
You can also restore the VBR configuration from the config backup. Then you don't have to import any backups. Backups will be available after restoring the configuration.

If you must restore an entire physical server, you must use the recovery media.
Perform Bare Metal Recovery

If you want to restore Files, Folders and Application Items, you must use the VBR console to restore your Data from "managed by Server" backups:
