Backing up MySQL DB on Linux VM
I'm trying to configure a mysql database backup on several Linux VMs. Currently the backup for these VMs are just normal VM snapshot backups. How do I create backup jobs for mysql databases? Do I need to install Veeam agent on my Linux VMs?

Re: Backing up MySQL DB on Linux VM
Hello,
there are three options for application consistent backup
1) use the Veeam Agent for Linux
2) use scripts as described in the whitepaper: https://www.veeam.com/wp-consistent-pro ... riadb.html
3) shutdown the database before taking the snapshot
Note: all options are still image based backups. I do not suggest file-level-based database backup.
Best regards,
Hannes
