Hello and Good Day Veeam Community...
This may seem like a silly question, but I can't find any confirmation anywhwere... Does Veeam Backup and Replication support application aware SQL backups for SQL servers that have multiple instances on the same SQL server? Are there any special considerations for protecting SQL servers with several SQL instances?
Also, does Veeam SQL application aware processing support instances that have replicated databases. (publication or subscriptions) Are there any limitation with the SQL VSS Writer in these cases that I should be aware of?
Thanks for any information you can provide!

Re: Backing Up SQL Servers With Multiple Instances
Hello,
yes, works. I have multiple instances on one server and I also hear it from customers that it works fine. VSS works as long as (permission) requirements are met.
Asking the other way around: did you see any issues? If yes, what's the case number?
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Backing Up SQL Servers With Multiple Instances
hey there Hannes, thanks for that answer. I was having issues with a SQL server that had multiple instances, but as it turns out, all it required was a reboot, and that solved the issue. Thanks again.
