Backup a Remote Server on a Remote Repository
We have 2 buildings connected with 100 mbit. Local Lan speed of each building is 1 GigaBit.
on Primary building we have:
1 cluster vmware (2 nodes)
1 installed the Veeam software
1 Lan storage repository
(local backup from cluster to storage runs at 1 gigabit)
on Secondary building we have
1 single vmware server
1 Lan storage repository
When i launch a backup from the first building of the single server (second building) on the storage (second building) we see a backup speed of only 100mbit.
My question is, the backupped data pass throw the veeam software?
How can I resolve this speed issue ? I have to install the veeam software also in the second building?

To keep traffic local to second building, you need proxy server and repository server deployed there. What proxy server is currently being used by this backup job? How the storage is added to Veeam B&R console (what repository type is used)?

Share Type is CFIS.
Repository server and repository server is deployed on second building.
I have no proxy on second building. In backup is set on Automatic selection (proxy).

Re: Backup a Remote Server on a Remote Repository
Set up a virtual proxy server residing on the host in second building. Most likely Veeam B&R server itself performs this role now, since it has default proxy server installed on it.

Can you advise me on a program for a Windows 7 Virtual Machine to have a local proxy ?

Proxy is a Veeam B&R component responsible for data retrieval and processing. Here's how you can assign the proxy role to any Windows server.

Re: Backup a Remote Server on a Remote Repository
Ok thanks. Can I install only the proxy component or I have to install the entire software?

Re: Backup a Remote Server on a Remote Repository
Only proxy server components are required.
