Backup actions greyed out

Post by stinger »

Hey all,

I have an issue where we cannot edit a configured backup job that was created through the Veeam Agent. Any ideas? Another topic seemed to suggest licensing issues but I'm not sure this is the same.

We have Veeam Backup and Replication on an Enterprise Plus Edition license. The version is 9.5.0.1038.

I recently installed the Veeam Agent 2.0.0.700 - free edition onto a physical machine and configured a backup.

This is fine, the wizard completed and I can see the backup job in B&R and it runs automatically. But when I right click to see the actions they are greyed out.

The options I have are
Start - greyed out
Stop - greyed out
Retry - greyed out
Statistics
Report - greyed out
Disable
Clone - greyed out
Delete
Edit - greyed out

Hi Ryan,

Agent job management is not available in the current version of Veeam B&R, that's why all options are grayed out.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

Has Agent job management previously been available, or is it planned to be available in the future?

Is there another way I can achieve this task?

Thank you,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Our next version (as we announced at VeeamON) will have agent management through the VBR console. You will need a licensed version for it (workstation or server edition). For now, managing those jobs is still done at the agent itself.

Hope it helps

And if you're a service provider, then you can use Veeam Availability Console to manage all the agents through a single web based UI.

Thanks guys, yes that helps.

One more question - from the agent on a physical machine we configured the backup and selected the default backup repository. Should I be able to, or is there a way to select a scale-out repository at this stage on the agent backup configuration?

Cheers,
R

Yes you should, but you should check the permissions on the scale-out repository: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=20
