Backup and Archiving on Azure (Multitenancy)

Post by theo.flury »

Dear veeam Backup and Replication Team

We would like to post the following feature request.

We are a hosting Service Provider and therefore we are using Veeam Backup and Replication in our Data Centers and Private Clouds. Many of our customers would like to extend their Backup Retention up to several years. We made a proof of concept with extending the customers backup repository to the azure cloud - this was success full! But unfortunately we figured out, that this feature has no multitenancy. It would be a very good thing if we could add this service tenant by tenant und using separate Azure Tenants (storage accounts) for extending the backup repo. What do you think about it? Multitenancy would be a really cool feature! :-)

cheers, theo

Hi, Theo. Can you clarify what is the issue with registering Azure Blob Storage for each tenant using individual Azure storage accounts? Thanks!

Hi Theo,

One instance of StarWind VTL with VEEAM B&R allows to create multi-tenant Azure repositories
https://www.veeam.com/wp-using-azure-vt ... guide.html

StarWind VTL allows create unlimited number of media libraries inside one instance and each virtual media library has own cloud upload settings – cloud storage provider (Azure, AWS, Wasabi, etc), account, hot/cool/archive retention settings.
