Hello There
I'm relatively new to Veeam Backup and therefore have a possibly stupid question.
I need to migrate a server from site A to a new server in site B for my company. However, these two locations are not connected to each other.
Now I wanted to ask if I can make a backup of the server at site A and then load this onto the new server at site B as a restore. If this is possible, do I have to pay attention to something special or is it a "normal" restore?
Many thanks and greetings

Re: Backup and Restore to Setup new Server
Hi Florian
Generally you need to use this kb article and user guide to migrate your backup server configuration:
https://www.veeam.com/kb1889
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... grate.html
Migrating the backup server with the configuration backup has some benefits. You will be able to migrate to a server OS and the newest Veeam Backup & Replication release. Also is the recommended and tested way to migrate a backup server.
Additional steps are required for the existing backups. Can you tell us what sort of backup repository you have?
Best,
Fabian
