Backup Azure VMs in Veeam
Can I use Veeam to Backup Azure VMs?
If veeam agent is required for backup then is it the same as veeam agent for windows/Linux or do I need separate agent and separate licensing for that?

Hi Parth,
Correct, you can use VAW/VAL or spin up a B&R server in Azure for that. In terms of licensing, you do not require any "specific" licenses.

Fedor

Re: Backup Azure VMs in Veeam
By "spin up a B&R server" in azure you mean to say that I can create Veeam B&R server in azure right? but in that case backup of azure VMs will be agent based same as backing up windows physical machine in B&R. Am I getting it right? or is there any other method ?

No, you don't need a special kind of agent for Azure - just install VAW or VAl as Fedor's suggested.
Separate licensing is not required either - agents can have local license installed, or receive license from available VBR server.
Thanks!

Yes, that's just an option, that might be useful if you'd like to utilize Agent Management capabilities without connecting the Agents anywhere outside of Azure. You are right assuming that the backup will be made utilizing Agents, as usual.
