Backup Cloud Edition an FLR
The release notes of Cloud Edition says: "Note that Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 are not supported for the file-level restore from the cloud scenario."
So I guess it should be possible to do a FLR File Level Restore directly from the cloud backup on e.g. a W2K8 server but I do not see any options for this.
The question is if it is possible to do a FLR directly from the cloud-backup or do I first have to restore the complete vbk/vrb files to do that?

Yes, this is possible. You need to install Veeam B&R Cloud Edition on a VM in the cloud for that and mount the cloud storage as a drive to it. Please review the Use Case 3 chapter of the Veeam B&R Cloud Edition quick start guide (p.21) for detailed description of the procedure.

Ah, looks great. A bit workaround but it's worth testing it.
Only see you need an Amazon S3 account. Wonder if this also works with my Amazon Glacier account.

I would have thought the recovery time for glacier would make this impractical ? I dont believe its you can mount glacier as a drive in the same way ( this may not be the case , hopefully someone who is more of a glacier expert can help here )

Chris is correct, you can't mount a glacier vault as a drive so there's no way to do this. It's very critical to remember that Glacier isn't really an online cloud storage, it's an offline cloud storage archive, which promises to allow you to retrieve your data from the archive in a "reasonable" amount of time. If you're expect to do FLR or item level recoveries from cloud storage, it will need to be real time, online cloud storage, not an archive solution.
Of course, there's nothing that would keep you from retrieving the file from your Glacier archive storage onto the block storage your AWS instance and then running the FLR from there. It would probably still be faster than pulling it down locally.
