backup configration

Post by AlertSistem »

In Backup & Replication Build 12.1.12.172 configuation backup shows these warnings:

Warning Skipping server certificate backup because encryption is disabled
Warning Failed to connect to Nutanix AHV plug-in: Failed to login to platform service: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
Warning Failed to connect to AWS plug-in: Failed to login to platform service: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
Warning Failed to connect to Microsoft Azure plug-in: Failed to login to platform service: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
Warning Failed to connect to GCP plug-in: Failed to login to platform service: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
Warning Failed to connect to oVirt KVM plug-in: Failed to login to platform service: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.

I don't use these plug-in so I disabled these services into B&R server but This didn't solve issue.

Hello,
First you should always use encryption for backup configuration. It will help you if you need to restore or migrate configuration.
Try to enable it (menu -> configuration backup) and let us know if the issue is still there.

I enable encryption of configuration backup and message about It is disappeared but my doubts were about PLUG-IN, I'm having always the same warnings:

My target is to have no warnings.

Hello,

You should enable them back (all these services) + restart them.
Then you can try again to backup your configuration and you should not have any warning anymore.

I was talking about restart services.
You can do it on nutanix only and see if after backup configuration the warning for nutanix is Still there or not.
I don t know if it will do something more than a restart but I know I already encounter this issue and I had to restart the services.
If this doesn t solve I think you can open a ticket yes :)

I'll try immediately but I don't understand...
When server reboots, services you indicated are automatically restarted, so I'm not able to understand difference.

I think matteu suggested that you re-enabled the services you disabled and then start them to see if the error message disappears. Restarting a server will not start disabled services, as you know.

The services probably won't use much resources expect possibly memory and as matteu says, not having them there may lead to problems during next patch/upgrade.

I was wondering about uninstalling unneeded plugins (AWS, GCP, Azure, ...) myself the other day.
Can anyone from Veeam comment if this will break future updates?

You can uninstall unused plugins. Veeam will re-install them the next upgrade though, so you will need to uninstall them again if you want them to be removed. It won't break the upgrade process.

For those that got rid of the error by removing plug-ins, you're talking about from Add/Remove Programs, correct?
I don't use Nutanix, AWS, etc.

the suggestion i received from support, is to uninstall unused plug-ins to clear the error.
they will be reinstalled after you do version upgrade.
