[Success] Backup Configuration Job
Every morning we get an email with the subject "[Success] Backup Configuration Job (21.01.2015 11:44:29)":
No idea what this is and I can't find a job which generates this.
Any ideas? Many thanks

Hello,
Looks like you have a scheduled configuration backup which generates the notification.
It can be found in the Main menu>Configuration backup. Thanks.

Hello Shestakov,
That was it - thanks. What exactly is this... a backup of my configuration? 10GB - wow! It this necessary to do every day - what are your tips.
Thanks.

Re: [Success] Backup Configuration Job
Hi,
the backup is packed only 148MB big. I think at this size it's ok to do this daily.
Yes this backup includes your complete Veeam Backup and Replication Configuration.
Settings, Jobs, Tape Inventory (which tape has backup X), credentials (if you encrypt the backup), etc.
You can use this backup to recover an failed VBR Management Instance. Just install
a new server and restore this backup.
Regards
Marco

Re: [Success] Backup Configuration Job
As Marco said backup size is 148 MB, not 8,8 GB.
You can also decrease number of restore points and schedule the configuration backup to run once a week rather than daily to diminish its impact.
The question has been also discussed in this topic. Thanks.

Re: [Success] Backup Configuration Job
This Backup Configuration Job, saves me a lot of time.
My customer format the machine where the backup was installed, and gave an another machine to install a new veeam.
I had configured jobs, tape jobs, media pool. With this option I could restore everything, including the catalog job, and logs.
It´s a best practice to make these backups, and mantain at least 10 days to have an old version to restore.
