Backup Copy - if copy doesn't complete in time, does it continue next?

Post by Mgamerz »

Last week our primary backup storage array went down. It took us almost a week to bring it back up but it's back with the data still intact. During this time our servers accumulated a large amount of changes and the backup copy interval keeps expiring as it has not copied in time. My question is - is the data that was copied still on the remote host? Will the next interval pick up where the old one left off? It is copying 2 large VMs with about 400GB of changes, and I have seen it retrying multiple days now.

Backup copy continues copying missing data blocks that it wasn't able to copy during the last interval. Let it finish (extending the interval temporarily should help) and it will finally copy everything that is required.
