The problem with viewing Backup Copy jobs in the Veeam console relates to how/when the status updates.
We have migrated 40 customers to Veeam backup.
Consider this configuration.
40 backup jobs run @ 6pm daily.
80 backup copy jobs run @ 6pm daily. (one copy to onsite HDD, one copy to offsite HDD, with per-customer retention therefore each customer has their own jobs)
Every day, somebody manually checks the Veeam console for job status.
Monday morning:
Everything has a last result of 'Success'.
Two extents are getting a little low on space. One has only 500GB left. Extend both extents +1TB ok.
Tuesday morning:
6 backup copy jobs have a last result of 'Warning'.
Clicking each of the jobs, there are no warnings in any of them.
Opening the statistics of each job and pressing <- key to go back to yesterday, ahhh, warnings about placement policy breaches.
So... the 'Last Result' column for Backup Copy is showing the result of two days ago. It wasn't until Tuesday morning that we knew backup copy jobs that run on Sunday had placement policy breaches. Since we use ReFS, placement policy is a HUGE ISSUE and we don't want to go an extra day without knowing there is something broken.
Perhaps we need a new 'This Result' column. Or maybe it could be called 'Current Result'. The only alternative right now is to manually click on 80 backup copy jobs each morning. Oh hey, that makes me wonder, is there a VeeamONE alarm for policy placement breaches? That would be pretty cool.

Re: Backup copy job GUI display problem
Hello,
just to make it easier for others to post their ideas (it took me some time to understand what the request is)
You ask for "easy monitoring for Scale Out Repository (SOBR) placement policy breaches because that's an issue with REFS". Correct?
Did you look whether Powershell might be able to solve that request?
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Backup copy job GUI display problem
Bill, not sure what is meant by "policy breach", but there is Veeam ONE notification saying that one of the extents is out of space.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Backup copy job GUI display problem
@HannesK yes, sorry, it was a very long-winded and opinionated post. You are correct in saying I am asking for an easy monitoring of SOBR placement policy breaches.
@Shestakov this is a great point! A custom VeeamONE alarm can be created for this purpose, which will solve my issue.

Re: Backup copy job GUI display problem
Good to know.
By the way, you can assign the alarm to particular extents, e.g. those with ReFS.
