Good morning everyone,
we have a customer who uses several external drives for backup copies and tends to disconnect one or two to take them with him.
While those drives are disconnected we get spammed with errors from the backup copy job, since it can't find the repositories anymore (which is obvious, since it isn't there).
Is there any way to lower the amount of mails we receive for those missing drives? Another way to configure the backup copy job?
Veeam B&R 11
one backup job
4 copy jobs to external drives
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Oliver

Re: Backup Copy Job notifications with rotating drives
Hello,
did you already try to use the "mirror" mode?
There you can enable notification once per day
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Backup Copy Job notifications with rotating drives
Oliver,
I'd also recommend to install Veeam B&R v11a since some issues related to false-positive notifications in backup copy were addressed in this Update. Thank you!

Re: Backup Copy Job notifications with rotating drives
Good morning,
@HannesK
do you mean mirror instead of pruning for the copy job? We are already using this, but i can't find any options to only let it notify me once per day.
@Dima P.
Those notifications are not false positives, they only occur if the customer disconnects a drive to take it home or put it in the safe. So of course Veeam has to notify me about it, but i don't need like 40 mails per day telling me that the repository is not available.
Kind regards
Oliver

Re: Backup Copy Job notifications with rotating drives
yes, correct. in the link above
it's also in the screenshot of the page I linked above.helpcenter wrote:[For the immediate copy mode] In the Send at field, specify when you want to send notifications about backup copy jobs that process log backups. Veeam Backup & Replication sends a consolidated report once a day at the specified time.
