Was there a solution to the original post? If so, what was the remediation?

Vince, could you please elaborate on the particular issue you're having (if any), as it is not 100% clear what solution you're referring to.

Backup Copy job performance

Post by vgaspar »

When i do a backup coy between my EMC VNXe 5150d to my Data domain DD640 leveraging Veeam backup server running version 7.0.0.771 the job runs at 5-6MB/s (dedup was on compression was none), However the backup job runs @ about 110-115 MB/s. After reading some of the recommendation in this thread I have disabled inline deduplication for the backup copy job and used Extreme compression and now I get a throughput of 11-12MB/s. Is there anything else that can be done to make the processing rate better?

What is the backup copy job mode (direct or WAN accelerated), what kind of link it is flowing over, and what does the bottleneck stats show?
