Backup Copy Job question

Post by emachabert »

Hi all,

I am migrating a setup from 6.5 to 7.0 and I have a network trafic question.

There are 3 Veeam servers (One backup server (VM), two physical proxies using Direct San Access).
Each Proxy is sending data to a CIFS repository (Netapp array). the Veeam Server is only managing the backup, it is not used as proxy nor repository.

There is a third CIFS repository (third array) we would like to use for backup copy.

How should I configure Veeam so that backup copy job trafic is not handled by Veeam Server ? Is it possible that trafic would be handled by physical proxies ?

At the moment, if I start the backup copy job, the proxy being used is the Veeam Proxy server. If I disable the local proxy, it is still using the Veeam Backup server.

Thanks

When you create the CIFS repository, you can select the server to run the target side data mover on. By default it is automatic but you can select your physical server on the drop down

Ok I see what you are talking about.

I'll test it tomorrow.
