Backup Copy Job
Hi, we currently have a job which was running hourly, but has now been changed to run daily to a local NAS and also a backup copy job of this to our cloud repository.
The issue we are having is that on our customers side, the stored data is around 188GB for this job, however, on our cloud side the same job is taking up around 6TB.
It seems that the full backup copy is around 1.1TB, and for some reason all restore points for some machines are full backups, however some other machines in the same job have incremental backups.
Am i missing something obvious, or has this type of behavior been seen before?
Any help is much appreciated

Re: Backup Copy Job
Is the GFS retention policy enabled in the setting of backup copy job pointed to cloud repository?

Re: Backup Copy Job
Hi, GFS is enabled, it is currently set as;
weekly backup; 4
monthly backup; 12
quarterly backup; 0
Yearly backup; 7
This is exactly the same as another few jobs for the same customer, for instance, we observe around 2.2TB their side on another job, and only around 3TB our side for that job.
Also, there is only 1 VIB file for the job just mentioned, however there are around 5 VIB files for the job that we are having issues with

Re: Backup Copy Job
Check what files are in the repository. Remember that each GFS restore point is a separate full backup file. Also, what backup method does the source backup job uses (forward/reverse incremental)?

Re: Backup Copy Job
With the job that is experiencing the issues, there are only VIB files in the cloud repository, however, the customer side has 1 VBK file and the rest are incremental VIB files. (apologies for my last post, i meant VBK instead of VIB).
The source backup job is using forward incremental, the same as all of the other source backup jobs.

Re: Backup Copy Job
There should be file VBK file as well. I'd still recommend contacting support for assistance, that would be more effective.ftbug wrote:With the job that is experiencing the issues, there are only VIB files in the cloud repository
