We are trying to construct a backup copy job out to a VM in Azure. We have created a VM in Azure, attached (3) 1TB disks then created one 3TB Volume using Storage Spaces. Veeam is installed on the Azure VM and a Repository has been created.
What is the best strategy to get the backups out to the Azure VM without sending a whole backup everyday. Each VM has it's own backup job. I switched the local back jobs from Revered incremental to Incremental with Synthetic Fulls. I'm hoping the Backup Copy Job will then only send the changes from the previous day. The BackupCopyJob is currently as "backup job" type, I also have one set as "VM".
Should we set the backup copy job to "VM" or Backup Job?
Should we create a separate back copy job per each vm?
Our main goal is to just get daily backups Off-Site.

Re: Backup Copy Job to Azure VM
Backup copy job is the best option, indeed. What is the best strategy to get the backups out to the Azure VM without sending a whole backup everyday.
You can select either backup job or individual VMs that should be transferred to secondary location. It's up to you.Should we set the backup copy job to "VM" or Backup Job?
I think one backup copy job containing either all VMs or all backup jobs will do the trick.Should we create a separate back copy job per each vm?
Thanks.

Re: Backup Copy Job to Azure VM
Thank you sounds great!
Does it matter what type of backup job is running; Reverse Incremental vs Incremental with synthetic fulls? I was worried that with the Reverse Incrementals that the backup copy job would then send the newest .VBK every day.

Re: Backup Copy Job to Azure VM
In fact, the backup copy job doesn't copy backup file as a whole, but rather synthetically creates required restore points in "target" location from VM data in source backup repositories. So, backup mode of the source jobs doesn't matter. Thanks.
