So, if I have a customer that wants to use a Data Domain for on-site repositories, but leverage backup copy jobs writing to a dumb NAS device off-site, what's the best practice here?
Should I be concerned about the Copy Job forcing the Data Domain to rehydrate the backup file?
Should I first write backups to local storage, then create Backup Copy Jobs to write to the DD and NAS device?

Re: Backup Copy Jobs and Dedupe Repositories Best Practices.
This would be the best strategy, indeed. This is exactly what we're recommending as the ultimate backup infrastructure. Thanks.Should I first write backups to local storage, then create Backup Copy Jobs to write to the DD and NAS device?

Re: Backup Copy Jobs and Dedupe Repositories Best Practices.
The general idea is, whenever you have a deduplication appliance, it should be the last chain of your backups. So, it's better to be your primary backup device only if you do not plan to have additional tiers to send backup to.
