backup copy jobs, not honoring the copy interval?

Hi there guys, I have a couple of simple backup copy jobs set up with a pretty frequent copy interval in periodic copy mode, but it just seems like the job never properly honors the actual copy interval, and days would pass where it just doesn't copy new restore points, but if I look at the original location of what it's targeting, there are tons of new restore points available.

I have to manually resync it in order for it to copy, it doesn't automatically do it properly and I fall behind a lot. Any ideas?
