I rotate external drives for my backup copy job and I've long become used to the email that reported a failure on the days after I swap out the drive, followed eventually by a success report when B&R does what it's supposed to do.
I've always thought that the first should be a "notice" or "warning" status. B&R is fully aware that the hdd has been swapped out and compensates correctly to ensure I have recoverability so it 'knows' that the BackupCopy job has not failed, it's just letting me know that it's noticed the chain is broken due to the replacement hdd.
* Monday I popped the latest build on (inc the security patch so .. 11.0.1.1261 P20220302).
* Tuesday I was onsite so I rotated the ext-hdd.
* Wednesday, this morning, the first message about the BackupCopy job was "success" for 0 out of 0 machines. (followed later by the 'success 1 objects' msg for the completed job)
I still think that the first message/log should be a warning, and that the message should say something like "External Hard Drive change detected, rebuilding a Full."
Ignoring the majority of posts in this thread ...
veeam-backup-replication-f2/v11-and-rot ... 91-90.html
.. (which is locked, or I'd have added to it.) that side-step into retention discussions, --- Would that suggested change (to 'warning' or 'notice') be accepable to those of you who automate your error checking and manually intervene when the status is not "success"?

Re: Backup Copy notification email after rotating external hard drives.
Hello,
if I got it right, then everything is okay. what would be the reason for "warning"? "Warning" would again probably trigger ticket systems like mentioned by je1000
Also the starter of the thread asked for "success" as it was in V10.
Best regards,
Hannes
