Hi,
i have backuped vms before deleting from vSphere. Just to follow 3-2-1 it is coping to a offsite location with limited bandwidth and timeframe.
So i told my colleague to wait for deletion till the backup copy is completely successful.
After that i thought about it . Am i wrong?
Is it possible to copy backups with the live vm deleted from vSphere?
Thx guys.

Re: Backup copy of deleted vms
Hello,
I see no reason, why the VM must exist in VMware to copy something that exist within the backup infrastructure already
Best regards,
Hannes

Hi Hannes,
thanks for your confirmation. These were my thoughts afterwards, too.
But in any cases: Better safe than sorry and no human was harmed
