Backup Copy Settings

Post by scottf99 »

Hi.

Veeam B&R Enterprise on Server 2012R2 / esxi 5.5
VEEAM01 is veeam Server
VEEAM02 is proxy and repository and Wan ACC (just for testing. Will use dedicated WA later))
VEEAM03 is proxy and repository and WA and is on a remote 10Mb/s link

I have seeded and setup Backup Copy for one of my backups and it is working fine. My confusion is with the setting in the Backup job under storage "Configure secondary destinations for this job". What does this setting do? Backup Copy seems to be working fine without it.

Soon I wish to have another repository in the main Datacenter (with 01 and 02) and Backup Copy to this AND Backup Copy to the remote site. Is this where I might use that settings?

Cheers

Hi, Scott,

It's just convenient way to select secondary destination for a backup job, leading you to secondary job (backup to tape, backup copy) creation wizard. If you've configured the backup copy job already, then, you don't need to be concerned about this settings.

Thanks.
