I currently have Veeam B&R 11 backing up about 11 servers to a local repository and then backup copy jobs that send those to a branch office server via Direct backup. The two sites are connected via site-to-site VPN.
Would there be any efficiencies in implementing that branch office as a Cloud Connect destination instead?
I had originally setup the jobs as Wan accelerations, but changed them to direct as I was having a lot of issues with the previous... and, I might be remembering incorrectly, I couldn't implement bandwidth throttling with WAN acceleration.

Re: Backup Copy to Offsite Repository: Cloud Connect?
Hello Bill,
With Cloud Connect VPN wont be required - you can backup directly to a Cloud Connect repository over WAN. If you have any workstations protected by agents you can also configure direct backup to a Cloud Connect repository, in such case direct connection with the main Veeam B&R server wont be required.

We need the VPN for branch office operations, so that would be in place regardless.
I just wasn't sure if there were some sort of data efficiencies in using Cloud Connect

Consider it an simple repository, so it does not matter in your case (as far as I understand) and you do not need to leverage Cloud Connect. Thanks!
