Backup Error - Not Enough Storage Available

Post by wocomike »

Hey Guys,

I'm getting the following error when trying to back up certain VM's. It doesn't happen all the time, just every now and then. Any ideas as to what's going on??

---------------------------

Backing up file "[snap-442bcf0d-VMWareData] SmithWesson/SmithWesson_1-flat.vmdk" BackupDisk failed Client error: Not enough server storage is available to process this command Failed to read data from the file [\\10.12.1.1\f$\vmware_backup\VM backup.vbk]. Server error: End of file

---------------------------

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

-Mike

Hello Mike,

It seems like you've lost the connection to the destination storage during the job process, so if it's possible can you run ping command during the backup job and see whether you have any packet losses, it could be that your network is blinking as it happens from time to time and it's not related to your target storage capacity.

Thank you

Vitality,

That makes sense... I'm connected to the destination store by a Windows drive share. I may try NFS or something.

Thank you!!!

Is it ok to have the destination as a Windows share??

Mike,

Yes, absolutely, there are no issues with that.
