Dear all,
We plan for a centralized Exchange infrastructure (4000 users) and it seems that we will use Veeam to backup our exchange 2010 servers.
When designing infrastructure, we have some doubts about storage design. Is there any pre-requisites regarding backup with Veeam?
For example, is it necessary to have one lun or vmdk by exchange database? Do we need to have log with database on the same volume? Can we have logs for multiples databases on the same volume?
I'am not able to find any documentation on this question. Is there any installation guide which explain prerequisites?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Ludovic

Re: Backup Exchange 2010 - Storage prerequisites
Ludovic, sounds like what you are really looking for general requirements on deploying Exchange 2010 in VMware environment, is that correct? If yes, this should be something many forum members will hopefully be able to advice you on.
From my Exchange experience, transaction logs should most definitely go to a separate volume, and in case of local storage you want them to be on different spindle.
