Backup fail - vMotion.

Post by olvir »

Hi all.

If I vMotion (Vmware 5) a machine from one store to another under vCenter I get a backup failure. Error stated "Object <vm's name> not found".

Is there a way (or a feature/option) to backup a machine even if she has moved to another store, along as she is under the same vCenter server?

If so, how simple is it? :)

Kind Regards,
Olvir

Hi Olvir,

Make sure you add VMs to the backup/replication job through a vCenter Server connection (as opposed to standalone hosts) in the Veeam backup console, this will make your jobs vMotion "aware".

Thanks!
