Backup Failed after upgrading to ESX update 4
After upgrading my ESX hosts to Update 4 i received the following error, after running Veeam Backup that night.
Retrieving file list Failed
to perform Veeam VSS freeze: VMware tools status is "toolsOld"
I hope you can fix this in the next release.

Re: Backup Failed after upgrading to ESX update 4
Hello, actually this is not a Veeam Backup issue. The issue is exactly due to what the error says - VMware Tools are out of date on that VM
According to ESX 3.5 Update 4 release notes, this update requires that you upgrade VMware Tools on your virtual machines.
Thank you!

did the job actually fail or was it reported as a warning?

Depending on the state of Perform backup even if VSS fails checkbox, this issue could be classified either as warning, or failure.

afokkema - This means that you had the job set to fail if VSS fails. You have the ability to toggle this as Gostev pointed out in his previous post, on the VSS tab under the job properties.
Thanks!
Thanks!
