Backup from machine that is installed Sql server on it

Hi. i want get backup from my machine. but Microsoft sql server is installed on my vmware machine and it is online now and my sql database are important .
now i want to know Is it necessary to Shutdown sql server if i get backup from it with veeam backup or i can get backup full from machine while sql server is up

Hello,

There is no need to shut down SQL Server to run a backup job. In order to back it up in a consistent way, please enable "application-aware image processing" option in the backup job settings.

thanks . but when enable application aware image processing what do i have to fill in credentials ? which user pass do i have to write ?

Hello, you need to specify the account (in the DOMAIN\USERNAME format) that has local administrative privileges on all VMs included in the backup job. Thanks.
