I have a few incremental backup jobs that have a retention of 5 copies but every time they start merging it takes forever. Right now i'm looking at one that's only at 50% after 4hours. The VIBs are typically around 40GB and the VBKs are 500GB each.
My guess is that the storage unit is to blame but just want to make sure that it's not something in my job settings that's causing the issue and if it is the storage unit, is there anything i can change to make these jobs quicker? Like having the merges happen over the weekend?

I'm wondering what is playing the role of target repository. It isn't CIFS share (created on top of NAS device) over 1 Gb Ethernet, is it? Thanks.
