Backup Linux virtual machine with physical RDM disk
We have linux red hat virtual machines which have some physical RDM disk and other virtual disk, the OS boot is a virtual disk. We have the next question, Can we exclude RDM disk in the job and then dont have trouble with RDM disk ? in this case we need only backup OS system because currently only is neccesary restore Virtual machine without RDM disks.

Re: Backup Linux virtual machine with physical RDM disk
Hello,
in general, that works fine. You also don't need to exclude anything because RDMs cannot be snapshotted anyway (meaning vm-based backup).
It's hard to guess whether really everything works as you expect. So the general advise is to test after backup (classic full-vm restore or instant VM recovery)
Best regards,
Hannes
