What is the best backup method to select for my large VMs (more than 2 - 4 TB each) that will be stored on the Linux XFS as an Immutable backup ?
Because I'm afraid that I cannot change it later after the backup has been completed and then the immutability is in place until 1 year.

Re: Backup methoid best practice for large VMs into Immutable repo?
Hello
Use Forward incremental with regular synthetic fulls.
Synthentic fulls are spaceless and hardened repo requires regular full backups.
Best,
Fabian

Re: Backup methoid best practice for large VMs into Immutable repo?
Hello,
forward incremental with synthetic full backup is the most commonly used method. Only few customers use active full.
All other methods are impossible anyway and the software does not allow to configure them.
Best regards,
Hannes
PS: I strongly recommend shorter immutability periods configured on the repository, because GFS restore points are immutable anyway for the entire retention period.
