So my 2 server 2019 DC both work fine. Both back up fine as well. Except. Apparently when B&R starts backup of a DC, it pauses SYSVOL replication, causing these to be seen in the log:
"Error: 9036 (Paused for backup or restore)"
From what I can glean reading various posts elsewhere, these messages are completely harmless, but they cause my periodic 'dcdiag' commands to flag an issue. Is there a way to avoid this? The only thing I can think of is pre-script to disable DFS Replication service and post-script to re-enable it. Seems like overkill, no?

Re: Backup of domain controller causes SYSVOL warnings?
Indeed, to me it's an overkill. I would not worry about the error at all, as these are triggered by Microsoft's own VSS writer, and they do this in order to achieve consistency.
