Veeam does not support Solaris SPARC.
But what if we were to share the volumes of a Solaris SPARC server via samba (CIFS) or via NFS to a Windows or Linux server running a Veeam Agent? Could we take reliable backups that way?
Has anyone tried that with a recent version of Veeam?

Re: backup of NFS or CIFS share
Hi,
Agents won’t help since the do not backup external devices (except iscsi mounted storage). Possible workaround is to use File to tape jobs in conjunction with tape device or Virtual Tape Library (VTL).

Re: backup of NFS or CIFS share
Thanks for your reply, Dima. That saved us quite some time.
We meanwhile ran a first test. Backups seem to work fine. Restores give problems with hard and soft links. But I'll open a new topic to discuss that.
