Exchange 2013
To reduce the size of the backups we only want to back up the database and logs, has any one done this ?
So the databases are on
E:\DB1
E:\DB2
E:\DB3
and logs
F:\DB1
F:\DB2
F:\DB3
So i take it that we only include the above folders ?
thanks
Mike

Re: Backup only Exchange Server
Hi Mike,
If you want to back up files and folders only, then I would recommend looking at Veeam Agent for Windows, but in this case the restore time will be higher than just restoring the VM image.
Hope this helps.

We are veeam backup just to backup the Exchange database, no need to backup the VM as we have two exchange servers.

Re: Backup only Exchange Server
Hello Mike.
It's impossible to exclude specific database from VM backup: whenever you enable application processing for the job all exchange databases are processed automatically.
Vitaliy was referring to Veeam Agent for Windows as it operates on operating system level, so you can select what files should be processed by backup job (with the thought that you can select only specific databases as a source for your backup job).
