backup oracle VM

Hi

i read document about backup sql/oracle and archive logs

now in document on page 388 said :

Back Up Logs Periodically

This option can be used if you back up Microsoft SQL Server VMs and Oracle VMs.

1- is that means when i have a linux vm that installed on that oracle have to select this option ?

I'm not sure that I get the question. Oracle databases can be backed up with, or without transaction log backup configured. Both Linux and Windows Oracle installations are supported (except for Oracle Express Databases - these are supported for transaction log backup on Windows only)
