We have a physical Backup Server with Veeam Backup & Replication v8 for our virtual machines (VMware).
Now I want to backup this physical Server for disaster recovery.
Is it possible (and recommended) to install Veeam Endpoint Backup Free on the physical server (where Veeam Backup & Replication is already installed)?
My disaster recovery plan looks like:
- Restore physical Backup Server with Bare Metal Recovery (Endpoint Backup) on new hardware
- Install new ESXi Host with a datastore
- Restore virtual machines from backup repository
Is this a viable plan?

Re: Backup&Replication and Endpoint Backup Free
Or setup your DR server as a repository for a backup copy job, and backup config job. In the event of disaster, then just re-install Veeam on the DR server, import the config and then import the backup files?

Yes, installing VEB on top of VBR servers is fully supported. Here is a similar topic with the same request > Can VBR and Endpoint coexist?
