Backup Repository - Backupjob Folders

Post by sebi »

Hello

I got a little question

We created a Backup Repository \\[Server]\[Folder]\.
Now we start the backupjob and it creates on the Repository a new Folder
with the jobname. Now if run the backupjob again there is another Folder
with jobname_1 visible. So my question is: Is it possible that there is only
one folder per job created on the Repository and all Backups from this job
are written into it? How do i have to configure this?

Thanks for all answers

By default, a new folder on repository server is created per job. Though, the subsequent runs of a backup job shouldn’t create any additional folders there.

Might it be possible that you created a backup job, ran it once or more, removed it from backups, then, recreated it from the scratch and ran again? In this case, it’s possible that the folder with corresponding name had already existed and VB&R decided to create a new one.

Thanks.

Thanks for your answer. It helped me a lot thx.

Is it also possible to change the name of the default created folder on the repository?
So that the folder is named "[jobname]_backup" or something like this?

Thanks a lot

No, by default, the folders on the backup repository are named in accordance with the names of corresponding jobs. Thanks.
