Backup Schedule not Starting After Patch Install on V8

Post by dcrudo »

Dear All,

we are trying out a trial version of V8...

We tested few backups last week on V8 and all went fine, but after applying the first PATCH for V8, now backups
don't start on schedule anymore... any idea about what i can check?

They show up as Stopped and in the next run field, the schedule is set... no other jobs are running.

I've tried:

- disabling and re-enabling the schedule
- disabling and re-enabling the job
- Changing the schedule

but nothing seem to work..

Thanks a lot,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Does this also happen for newly created backup jobs? Do you have a support case opened with our technical team?

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,

thanks for the reply, restarting the server, solved this issue and the schedule started working again.

Maybe the service didn't restart properly after the update.

In addition, on another customer's site, we missed to launch Backup and Replication after the update, and therefore
the components didn't get updated... I didn't know the update process is two-phases, lesson learned.

(maybe automatically launching the backup and replication console after the update, will prompt the admin not to forget it ;)

thanks!

...or will make him just close the UI :) Anyway, thanks for the update, glad that your issue is solved now.
