Hi, we currently have a large amount of VMs being backed up with the backup sets arranged by schedule, i.e Class 1 runs hourly, Class 2 daily etc, however, a customer has recently requested a restructure and reschedule of their backups.
What is the best way to move only certain individual VMs out of the daily schedule into hourly, and vice versa, without needing two separate backup files as it would seem that we are unable to map individual VMs to their old incremental backup files?

Re: Backup set restructure
I think you have only one option here - remove specific VMs from one job, and add them to the other job. Full backup will be performed for newly-added machines during next job run. Thanks.

Re: Backup set restructure
Ok, it just seems a bit of a pain that we will have such a large amount of data overlap while the newly arranged backups run.
Also, is there a way to remove old archive points? for instance, if we change the backup retention from keeping 6 weekly backups, to only keep 2 weekly backups, are we able to remove the last previous 4 weeks retention points manually?

Re: Backup set restructure
Correct. You can delete those points either manually (after tweaking retention settings) or wait till weekly GFS retention scheme comes into play and remove those automatically.
