Backup single VM

Is it possible to run a backup for a single VM in a backup job?

If I have a single VM backup fail in a job with 20 VMs, I would like to be able to rectify the problem and retry the just the failed VM rather than the whole job.

Correct, retries are typically done automatically, but you can also initiate it manually by right-clicking the job and selecting the corresponding menu item. Thanks!
