Hi
The VMs are currently backed up to CIFS in one location and then copy jobs run to copy to CIFS in another physical location. We have a requirement to backup to tape for offsite storage in a third location. Is anyone doing something similar? Would you just backup the CIFS shares or have another Veeam job of some sort to backup to tape?
We have a retention policy of 56 and some of the jobs grow to more than 14TB in total. We have a total of 26 CIFS repositories.

Re: Backup to disk and tape question
Hi Paul,
You cannot backup directly to tape so you need to copy from disk repository to the tape one using backup to tape job.
Thanks!

Re: Backup to disk and tape question
We use backup copy jobs as the source for our Tape jobs. It works fine. It is a bit tricky if you are wanting to be selective about which VMs go to tape but if you just want to send everything it should be pretty easy to set up a schedule that works.
