Backup to SOBR Cloud

Post by SystemGear »

I currently have two Internal Repositories setup in my Veeam server one of which is a SOBR to a S3 Bucket. I have a Backup Copy Job that moves certain backups to the SOBR but the SOBR never offloads the backups to the Capacity Tier (s3 bucket). Am I doing this wrong? When I run a manual tiering job it does not detect any objects to move to capacity tier. The Capacity Tier is set to Move Backups to Object storage after 0 days.

I need to create offsite backups on a schedule of the previously created backups that run hourly without taking new backups from the source.

You need to configure gfs for the backup copy job, or the chain will never be sealed.
Do you have that configured?

Hello Mildur,
I have a GFS Configured on Backup Copy Job to the SOBR

Retention Policy: 7 days
Keep Weekly Full Backups for 8 weeks
Keep Monthly Full Backups for 24 Months
Keep Yearly Full Backups for 8 years

I would ideally like a full backup uploaded every week but is there a way I can do daily uploads if needed but only keep the weekly's after 7 days?

You need to activate Copy Policy for the capacity tier if you want to have the restore points offloaded as soon as they are created with the backup copy job.
