backup VM
hallo
I just installed veeam bacup and replication with a tape drive msl 2024 backup robot.
I want to backup virtual machines with vmware/Vsphere on which I have Oracle database.
My reposytory backup on my backup server is not large enough.
Am I new, can someone help me?

Re: backup VM
Hi, direct backup to tape is not possible, you have to perform a backup to disk first and then copy it to tape using backup to tape job. Thanks!

Re: backup VM
If you need to restore files or application data from Tape, you will have to copy all the backup files back to local disk.
I‘d recommend to buy enough local storage for the last 7 days restore Points for your vms.
Veeam is built this way. It needs a disk based backup repo for backup jobs and fast/easy restore operations.
You will not be happy with „only Tape“ Solution
